Introducing a new series designed to celebrate our local farmers, ranchers and growers and the natural abundance of Kauaʻi — hosted by the world’s most celebrated chefs, who’ll each visit us from across the globe. Our Chefs by Nature will collaborate with our culinary team to learn more about local ingredients and traditional techniques, develop featured dishes on our 1 Kitchen menu, teach master cooking classes for guests, and host charity dinners in support of the Kauaʻi Community College Culinary Arts Program—helping emerging local chefs bring even more artistry to the island.
ABOUT NANCY SILVERTON
We are thrilled to welcome Nancy Silverton, James Beard Outstanding Chef Award Winner, founder of LA’s beloved La Brea Bakery and La Campanile Restaurant, as well as co-owner of Pizzeria Mozza, Osteria Mozza, Mozza2Go and chi SPACCA. Chef Silverton has worked alongside the world’s most notable chefs, among them Jonathan Waxman and Wolfgang Puck. She has been named a Best New Chef by Food and Wine Magazine, listed among The Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink by Fortune and Food and Wine, and is the author of eight cookbooks. Chef Silverton was also featured on the Netflix documentary with her remarkable peers on the series Chef’s Table.
