Parade Route

The parade begins at 77th Street and Central Park West just south of the American Museum of Natural History at 9am. The parade marches down Central Park West to 59th Street then heads east to 6th Avenue and south along 6th Avenue all the way to 34th Street and Herald Square

Want to see behind the scenes of the parade? Bring your family out to see floating stars come to life at the balloon inflation. The iconic balloons will be inflated Wednesday, November 21 from 3pm – 10pm on both sides of the American Museum of Natural History, 77th Street and 81st Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.

Watching the Parade

We’re fortunate to be right in the middle of the parade route. If you’re planning to step outside and watch from 6th Avenue, we suggest getting up and out early and bundle up – the crowds can fill in fast!

Parade Day Travel Information

Road Closures

Traffic closures begin at 12am the morning of the parade in the following areas:
6th Avenue from 34th Street to 42nd Street
7th Avenue from 34th Street to 42nd Street
Broadway from 34th Street to 42nd Street
Central Park South from 59th Street Columbus Circle to 5th Avenue

Street closures will be restored when the parade passes each area.

Where to Walk

Pedestrian crossings will be at 37th, 39th, 44th, 48th, 52nd and 56th Streets. No Vehicle crossings will be allowed.Crosstown traffic will be closed.

Subway Closures

Some subway entrances will be closed along Central Park West, 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue.All accessible entrances with elevators will remain open.

Parking Alternatives

Our valet parking will be available, but during the hours of the parade there will be limited or no access to the garage due to street closures. If you will be traveling by car during the hours of the parade, please consider parking at any of the below neighboring garages that will be readily accessible and available on Thanksgiving Day:
