SASHIKO GALS X 1 HOTEL TOKYO EXHIBITION

In celebration of Earth Month, 1 Hotel Tokyo presents a special exhibition of original sneakers created in collaboration with SASHIKO GALS, a collective of artisans from Iwate, Japan—marking the beginning of the season’s Earth Month programming. Rooted in a shared commitment to living in harmony with nature and sustainability, each one-of-a-kind piece is inspired by the theme of “the forest” and meticulously hand-stitched using traditional sashiko techniques, requiring approximately 40 hours to complete. The exhibition will be on view through October in the 38th-floor elevator hall, where guests can experience three pairs of sneakers, including the original piece, displayed alongside a custom installation. A limited made-to-order release will also be available, and hands-on workshops led by the artisans are scheduled for May 22 and 23.
