Candle Making Class with Buena Vista Candle Co.

This immersive candle-making experience invites guests to slow down and create with intention. In honor of Black History Month, the workshop is led by Jeannine Escobar, founder of Buena Vista Candle Co. and a Miami-based creative whose Afro-diasporic and Latin roots shape her approach to ritual, scent, and form. Blending technical craftsmanship with sensory exploration, the experience transforms candle-making into a grounded, meditative ritual.

Guests will be guided through the full process of crafting a clean-burning soy wax candle, poured into a hand-crafted ceramic vessel by Valeria Rios Studio. A curated scent journey from Buena Vista’s botanically inspired aroma library completes the experience, offering depth, balance, and lasting beauty.

Because soy wax requires time to properly set, candles will remain in a temperature-controlled studio for 1 to 2 hours after pouring. Guests may pick up their finished pieces the next day at 1 Hotel South Beach. Pieces will be stored for 1 week following the workshop.
