Taking It Back To Art Basel At 1 Hotel South Beach

Missing Basel? We are too! While the countdown to Art Basel 2017 is already on (we’re more than halfway there!), we’re throwing it back to 2016 with a look at some of our favorite events and performances that truly make the first weekend of December “the most wonderful time of the year.”

If you haven’t made it to Ibiza for Rumors, it’s all good.  For the second year in a row, Guy Gerber, electronic DJ and Producer, brought the best of energetic music to Basel with sounds by synthesizers and live instruments.   

Basel + Castle  = Basel Castle.  A night on the sand at our private beach was the perfect backdrop for a culmination of music, art and curation.  The likes of Clams Casino, Brenmar, Lom Bros, Kidmograph and Hannah Stouffer took the crowd on an artistic journey that led late into the night.

The modern day piano man, Eric Lewis aka ELEW, took over Tom on Collins for a surprise performance.  Fusing fashion with talent, his mash ups of classics with a twist filled the lobby and let Basel-goers end the night on a high note. 

A journey with Canadian artist Daniel Mazzone brought his sophomore show to 1 Hotel South Beach, showcasing his uniquely creative style while pushing the envelope with visual concepts and expression. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for 2017.

It was all about the art, entertainment AND fashion with our annual Art of Wellness pop up that provided beauty services by Oren Salon (open on the second floor) and a collection of designers spanning clothing, jewelry and more to create Basel escape with nothing but positive vibes.
