With so much to see and do in London, it can be difficult to know where to start. We turned to our partners at Bamford, the holistic wellness brand behind Bamford Wellness Spa, to guide us through the city’s most tranquil spaces, where you can escape the hustle and bustle and be at one with nature.

Green Park

Bordering Buckingham Palace and the Wellington Arch, the graceful expanse of Green Park is just steps away from 1 Hotel Mayfair. Begin your morning in the park with an energizing sun salutation with the yoga mat found in your guest room, stop by for a midday stroll, or drop in for a serene evening picnic and wind down with the sights and sounds of London.

Hampstead Heath

This North London park is home to one of the best viewpoints in the city. Take a picnic and head to Parliament Hill to soak up a breathtaking view of the bustling city beneath you.

Battersea Park

Home to a large lake and a diverse range of flora and fauna, Battersea Park sits south of the River Thames. Exit by the embankment to enjoy a riverside stroll on your way home. Look out for The London Peace Pagoda, which also sits on the riverfront and features four bronze Buddha statues.

Richmond Park

Head a little further west to the largest of London’s eight Royal Parks. Featuring free-roaming deer and wide-open spaces, this West London park offers a countryside feel without having to leave the city.

Hyde Park

Set in the heart of London, this park is ideal for those looking to benefit from the healing properties of water. Visitors can hire a boat on The Serpentine Lake, open-water swim in the Serpentine Lido, and watch the calming water flow through the Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.

St James’ Park

Just a stone’s throw from Green Park, which can be seen from 1 Hotel Mayfair, this peaceful park is the perfect pitstop for those exploring London’s royal landmarks. After you’ve soaked up the grandeur of Buckingham Palace and walked down The Mall, you can retreat to the park for a welcome dose of nature. Look out for the resident pelicans that have resided there for almost 400 years.

Guided Tree Walk

Indulge in a leisurely arboreal stroll through London’s urban forest. Guided by the Tree Council Map, available at 1 Hotel Mayfair, uncover over 800,000 species of leafy canopies flourishing throughout both the historic and modern streets and parks of London.

Bamford Wellness Spa, 1 Hotel Mayfair

Bamford was born out of founder Carole Bamford’s love for nature, and every Bamford Wellness Spa is inspired by their very first spa on Daylesford Farm, located in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside.

The latest spa opening at 1 Hotel Mayfair is a true oasis of calm in the heart of the city, harnessing the power of nature to provide a bespoke, holistic wellness experience for each guest, transporting them into the healing sanctuary of nature.
