From decluttering your desk to letting yourself take a quick break, these 5 simple hacks can change how much you accomplish in a day.

1. Prepare for Monday, on Friday

Weekends are undoubtedly our favorite days of the week. Therefore, to make the most of it, we prepare for Mondays on Fridays. While your mental checklist is still fresh in your head, set an objective for Monday and create your list of what to tackle first.

2. Exercise in the morning

Contrary to popular belief, exercising in the morning gives you more energy, not less, throughout the day. Not to mention, the endorphins will put you in a good mood to help you start the day on a positive note. Set your alarm for 30 minutes earlier, and see your how great you feel.

3. Declutter your desk

Whether you’re aware of it, clutter can be cause subtle stress and hamper productivity. Cleaning your workspace and organizing your files helps workflow immensely. But if you don’t want to take our word for it, read Marie Kondo’s best-selling book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.

4. Give yourself a break

It’s easy to burn out when you’re trying to work full-throttle all day long. For optimal productivity, try the popular and praised Pomodoro technique: work for 25 minutes, then give yourself a five-minute break. Repeat.

5. Get enough sleep

You’ve heard it before, but its importance cannot be understated. Sleep is crucial to muscle repair, memory consolidation, and a host of other activities that keep our bodies healthy. Without it, you’ll wake up less prepared to concentrate, make decisions, or engage fully in activities. So, sleep. Your productivity depends on it.
