New York Fashion Week is here and we’ve been bitten by the fashion bug. As the eco-friendly fashion market continues to grow, new labels are taking the industry by storm. Sustainable brands are now offering clothing that is as good for the environment as it is for your closet! In honor of NYFW, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite labels that merge style and sustainability in an effort to make the world a better place.

Reformation

fashion

Created with the goals of consciously saving water, employing eco-friendly solutions and using vintage fabrics, Reformation is a leader in the eco-friendly fashion industry and continues to inspire a sustainable way for customers to be both sustainable and fashionable.

Cienne

fashion

By sourcing materials from artisans around the globe and producing the clothing right here in New York City, Cienne is able to keep waste and contamination low by working with minimal designs and detailed tailoring.

Kowtow

fashion

Kowtow makes certified fair trade organic clothing that is ethically and sustainably made from seed to garment. The organic cotton used in production also helps in the development of villages in India where the clothes are produced.

EDUN

fashion

Founded by Ali Hewson and U2 frontman Bono, EDUN promotes sustainable growth opportunities in Africa by supporting manufacturers, infrastructure and community building initiatives.

Chinti and Parker

fashion

Advocates of a ‘buy better’ philosophy, Chinti & Parker believes that ethical production should be a core value within each garment. The brand produces clothing in carefully selected factories and also actively offsets carbon emissions by adhering to the Carbon Neutral Company guidelines.

Stella McCartney

fashion

Renowned for her role in decreasing the carbon footprint in the world of fashion, Stella McCartney proves that luxury and sustainability don’t have to be mutually exclusive. The company’s UK-based studios and offices are all powered by wind energy reinforcing the designer’s belief that companies are responsible for the resources they use.

These eco-friendly fashion lines are what we’ll be donning on the streets of New York City this fashion week. Follow along on our Instagram for a behind-the-scenes look at 1 Hotel Central Park during NFYW.
